Hi, I’m Reed, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Gerontologist with over 20 years of expertise in geriatric care, dementia support, and mental health counseling. My career is distinguished by groundbreaking innovations, exceptional leadership, and a strong commitment to improving the lives of seniors and their caregivers.

My private practice, established in 2004, focuses on solution-focused therapy for individuals and families. My expertise includes supporting clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, managing physical health challenges, and providing specialized caregiver support. I've also secured and managed a federal fiduciary contract with the Veterans Administration, highlighting my ability to deliver impactful, results-driven care.

I have co-facilitated and contributed to pioneering research, including the University of Washington's "Dementia Partnership Project," which enhanced dementia caregiving strategies. I also co-led a study with the University of Washington Memory Care program that successfully combined caregiver and care receiver support groups, presenting the results at the prestigious American Neuropsychiatric Conference in Boston.

As Vice President of the Alzheimer’s Society of Washington, I spearheaded the introduction of GPS-enabled "Life Saver" wristbands, improving outcomes for wandering individuals with dementia. My efforts included training local law enforcement, search-and-rescue teams, and EMS personnel, significantly reducing risks for vulnerable populations.
