About Me

I hope to be a healing presence on your emotional journey. My twenty years in the helping profession can help you manage feelings, face emotional pain and reframe life experiences. The hallmark of my practice is compassion; creating a safe space for you to share. I tailor my therapeutic approach to the unique individual needs of my clients. I work with young and older adults, both couples and families. I address many complex issues: Women and Men's issues, Queer issues, gender identity, sexual identity, abuse in both hetero and same-sex relationships, veteran's and military personnel, caregiver burnout, grief and loss, death, and dying, oppression (both oppressor and victim), substance abuse, intergenerational trauma, and family childhood dysfunction. The primary mental health concerns I am most competent in treating are depression, anxiety, trauma related experiences, bi-polar disorder, range of personality disorders, borderline personality disorder, attachment issues, coping skills, life transitions, and geriatric/senior counseling. I believe psychological insight, honest vulnerability and emotional support are the catalyst for sustaining change. Please reach out if you have questions to see if we are a "good fit." For our initial session, I will begin with learning more about you, what you hope to gain from therapy and where you are struggling emotionally. I would be honored to join you on your path towards emotional wellness.

Next Steps, Together

I draw from a wide range of modalities and tailor my therapeutic approach to meet your emotional needs. My preferences are psychodynamic, client-centered, humanistic, DBT and trauma focused approaches. The first few sessions are meant to get a better sense of who you are and how best I can help. This is an important time to get to know your therapist as well and ask questions to better understand their experience. I believe a positive therapeutic relationship is the feeling of a "good match."

Clients can expect to leave sessions with new a perspective of how to understand themselves.
